So for the past few months I've been music less, because the people who own the rights to the MP3 format are assholes and decided to have a fee to bundle support with your OS. The fee is one grand, and for a package to be bundled with any GPL OS (Linux), you have to have the source available and it has to be costless. I have an easy way to get MP3 support with fedora...
- Open the terminal
- Type in:
su root
Then your root password. - Type in:
yum install xmms
and follow prompts on the command line... Then do the same foryum install xmms-mp3
Now you have MP3 support and a nifty little media player.
